This weekend writers and publishers from around the country descended on Harlem for the nation’s largest African American literary event. In addition to giving color folk to promote there works, talk shop and honor the forebarers of black literature, it also feature a pretty impressive range of talks and panels. Talks included insights from memoir writers like Wes Moore (the other wes moore) and Thomas Chatterton Williams (Losing my Cool), to panel discussion on the evolution of the african american dialect. It is, unfortunately, to late to go partake yourselves.
But, for those with a strong interest and a wide net connection, c-span online has offer extensive converge of these two events and more from this year’s Harlem Book Fair. A taste, at least, of what can be looked forward to next year.
