UNCG’s 21st Annual Conference focuses on Exploring Black Masculinities
What: UNCG’s 21st Annual Conference on African American Culture and Experience
When: October 14-16, 2010
Where: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro
In anticipation of a new scholarly journal on focusing Black Masculinity, this year’s UNC conference on African American Culture’s theme is Exploring Black Masculinities Across Multiple Landscapes: A Global Perspective. Among the topics explored in their 3 day conference:
- Theorized Black Masculinities
- Multi-racial identities
- Comic and Fictional portrayals of black males
- Queer, Feminist or Feminized Masculinities
Proposals are still being excepted for those interested in contributing. Send abstracts (100 words) in Word or RTF to afs@uncg.edu no later than August 13, 2010.
